These Terms & Conditions apply to services purchased directly from Solas Way.

2. Our services

Solas Way provides SEND advocacy, guidance and document-review services for families.

Current services include:

Advocacy Strategy Sessions
A focused online service including a pre-session SEND Support Review, an online Strategy Session of up to 90 minutes, and a personalised Solas Way Action Plan.

EHC Needs Assessment Request Review
A structured review of a draft EHC needs assessment request, with written feedback and practical recommendations.

The exact scope, price and inclusions of each service are set out on the relevant service page at the time of purchase.

3. What our services do not include

Unless specifically agreed in writing, Solas Way services do not include:

  • ongoing case management

  • legal representation

  • acting as a solicitor or regulated legal adviser

  • diagnosis or clinical assessment

  • contacting schools, local authorities or other professionals on your behalf

  • drafting or substantially rewriting large documents

  • submitting applications or requests on your behalf

  • guarantees about decisions, assessments, placements or outcomes

Our role is to provide information, advocacy support, professional feedback and practical guidance.

4. Prices and payment

Prices are shown on the website before purchase.

Current introductory prices are:

  • Advocacy Strategy Session: £95

  • EHC Needs Assessment Request Review: £75

Payment is required in full at checkout unless another payment method is specifically offered.

Where third-party payment options such as Klarna are available, their separate terms also apply.

5. Advocacy Strategy Sessions

The Advocacy Strategy Session includes:

  • a pre-session SEND Support Review, including up to 30 minutes reviewing the information and documents provided

  • an online Strategy Session of up to 90 minutes

  • a personalised Solas Way Action Plan

The Action Plan will normally be provided within 5 business days after the session.

The session may finish before 90 minutes where the issues raised have been fully explored. The fee is for the overall service and professional input, not for a guaranteed number of minutes.

6. Strategy Session documents and preparation

You may be asked to provide relevant documents before the session.

Please prioritise the most important information. The pre-session review includes up to 30 minutes of review time and is not a comprehensive audit of an entire case file.

If significantly more material is supplied than can reasonably be reviewed within that time, Solas Way may prioritise the documents most relevant to the issues identified.

7. EHC Needs Assessment Request Review

This service is for families who have already prepared, or are preparing, their own draft request.

It includes:

  • review of the draft request

  • identification of gaps, unclear areas and weaker evidence

  • feedback on how needs, impact and support are presented

  • practical recommendations for strengthening the request

It does not include:

  • writing the request on your behalf

  • substantial rewriting

  • gathering evidence

  • contacting the school or local authority

  • submitting the request

  • ongoing casework

  • any guarantee that the local authority will agree to assess

The review will normally be returned within 5 business days of receiving the completed submission, payment and all documents reasonably required to begin the review.

8. Booking and availability

Advocacy Strategy Sessions are offered subject to availability. Bookings may generally be made up to 8 weeks in advance and must be made at least 3 days before the session, subject to the availability shown on the website.

Solas Way may occasionally need to change availability because of illness, emergencies or unavoidable professional commitments. If we need to cancel or rearrange a confirmed session, we will offer an alternative date or a refund where appropriate.

9. Cancellation and rescheduling

For Advocacy Strategy Sessions:

  • cancellations made more than 48 hours before the session: no cancellation fee

  • cancellations made between 24 and 48 hours before the session: up to 50% of the session price

  • cancellations made less than 24 hours before the session, or non-attendance: up to 100% of the session price

  • rescheduling is permitted up to 48 hours before the session

We may waive or reduce a cancellation fee in exceptional circumstances at our discretion.

Because consumer cancellation charges must be fair and reflect genuine loss, these charges are intended to reflect preparation already undertaken, reserved appointment time and the reduced opportunity to offer the slot to another client. They should not be applied in a way that creates an excessive penalty.

10. Your statutory cancellation rights

If you purchase a service online, you will usually have a 14-day cancellation period beginning the day after the contract is entered into.

Where you ask Solas Way to begin providing the service during that 14-day period — for example, by reviewing your intake form or documents, preparing for a Strategy Session, or beginning an EHCNAR review — you expressly request that the service begins before the cancellation period ends.

If you cancel after work has begun at your request, you may be required to pay a proportionate amount for the service already supplied. If the service has been fully performed during the cancellation period, and you agreed that performance could begin and acknowledged that the right to cancel would be lost once the service was fully completed, the statutory right to cancel may end at that point.

Nothing in these Terms removes or reduces your statutory consumer rights.

11. Information you provide

You are responsible for providing information that is accurate to the best of your knowledge and for identifying the documents or issues you consider relevant. Solas Way can only base its guidance on the information available at the time. If important information is missing, incomplete or inaccurate, this may affect the usefulness of the guidance provided.

12. Personal information and confidentiality

Solas Way processes personal information in accordance with its Privacy Notice.

Because SEND work may involve health, disability, education and family information, some of the information provided may be sensitive.

Please only share information that is relevant to the service being provided and avoid including unnecessary information about other children, families or third parties.

13. Safeguarding

Solas Way takes safeguarding seriously. If information shared with us raises a concern that a child, young person or another person may be at risk of significant harm, we may need to share relevant information with appropriate safeguarding or statutory agencies. Where possible and appropriate, we will explain this before information is shared.

Our full approach is set out in our Safeguarding Policy.

14. Outcomes and decision-making

We will provide guidance and recommendations based on professional experience, the information available and relevant SEND practice. We cannot guarantee:

  • that a school or local authority will agree with our recommendations

  • that an EHC needs assessment will be agreed

  • that an EHCP will be issued

  • that a particular placement or provision will be secured

  • any particular legal, educational or administrative outcome

Decisions about whether and how to act on our guidance remain with you.

15. Complaints

If you are unhappy with a service, please contact us at hello@solasway.com as soon as possible. We will aim to acknowledge complaints promptly and respond fairly and reasonably. If a problem can be put right, we will consider an appropriate remedy in line with your statutory rights.

16. Liability

Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits any liability that cannot legally be excluded.

Solas Way will provide services with reasonable care and skill.

We are not responsible for losses caused by:

  • inaccurate or incomplete information provided to us

  • decisions made independently by schools, local authorities, courts, tribunals or other third parties

  • action taken outside the scope of the service purchased

This section does not affect your statutory rights.

17. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. The Terms that apply to your purchase will normally be those in force when the contract is entered into, unless a change is required by law or agreed with you.

18. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the law of England and Wales. If you are a consumer, you may also have rights to bring proceedings in the courts of the part of the UK in which you live.
