I have known Aidan at Solas Way for over three years, and I can genuinely say that she has made such a huge difference to both mine and my son’s life. Being a SEN parent can be exhausting. So often you feel like you are constantly having to fight just to get your child seen, understood and given the support they deserve. There have been so many times where I have felt like I was fighting against a brick wall, but Aidan has always been there beside us. She doesn’t just tell you what to do or point you in the right direction. She listens. She understands. She makes you feel heard when you feel like nobody else is listening. The knowledge she has is incredible, but what makes her so special is the amount of care and effort she puts into every child and family she supports. She will go above and beyond to make sure your child gets what they need and what they deserve. She has supported my son from secondary school right through to college, and I truly believe he would not be where he is today without her. She has helped him get the support he needed, pushed for things I didn’t even realise we could ask for, and has always made sure that his voice is at the centre of everything. She doesn’t just listen to the parent — she listens to the child. She takes the time to understand what they are struggling with, what makes them feel comfortable and what could genuinely help them move forward. The trust my son has in Aidan says more than I ever could. He wanted her there with him when he received his GCSE results. For my son to want someone there for such an important and emotional moment shows just how safe, supported and understood she has made him feel. I trust Aidan completely. She has never let me down. If she says she is going to do something, she does it. When things have felt impossible, she has been the person I have wanted in our corner because I know she will fight for my son and make sure his needs are not ignored. She is not just someone who offers advice. She becomes part of your support system. She gives you confidence when you are tired of fighting, reassurance when you feel lost and hope when it feels like nothing is going to change. My son would not be where he is today without Aidan, and I will always be grateful for everything she has done for us. From secondary school to college and everything in between, she has been there every step of the way. I honestly cannot thank Aidan and Solas Way enough.
